Free Photography Trips + Workshops For Bloggers!

If you have an interest in (digital) photography, you might find this to be right up your alley.

Sunway City Bhd and AMBP are getting together to send a group of lucky bloggers on TWO photography trips: the first, a day tour to Sunway Lagoon Resort which covers Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, and Sunway Pyramid; the second will be a 2D1N trip to Sunway Lost World of Tambun.

There are lots of activities lined up besides the ones where you go snapping away with your camera to your heart’s content.

Both outings also double up as a contest, where images taken of Sunway premises during the tours will be considered as entries for the Sunway Memories Photography Contest which offers total prizes worth over RM140,000!

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, it’s all FREE! 😀

So what are ya waiting for? Move your mouse on over to AMBP and sign up now!

India Mari

Well, I’m back from India. An wow, what blast it was.

In about 14 days, we covered Delhi, Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Khuri, Jodhpur, Pushkar, Jaipur, and Agra.

We saw many historical forts, sneaked in a few touristy spots, did some shopping, rode some camels, ate great northern Indian food, got accosted by touts, beggars and guys asking us if we wanted to “smoke something?”, slept in the desert under the stars, fell sick, walked among rats scurrying at our feet, and of course, we marveled at the glorious beauty of the Taj Mahal.

Well, I would say much more, but I’m kinda down with flu, cough and some major bodyaches. So I hope these pics will suffice for now. (Click on thumbnails for slightly larger image).

Jom India!

India map

Yo, yo. Check it. We be going to the sub-continent, yo.

Right, enough of my lame hip-hop impersonations.

I’m gonna be flying off to India this coming Sunday, and will be there for 2 whole weeks, together with 3 other colleagues.

And we be backpacking, homie! Yo, check it!!

Ok, sorry, won’t happen again.

Anyway, travel plans are somewhat sketchy, but basically, we’re covering Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, or at least as much as our limited time-span allows.

The Taj Mahal is a must see, of course. The rest… will be decided. Accomodation plans are still in flux.

And I tend to be anal about things like travel preparedness and such, but you know what? I should learn to relax and take things as they come.

And this trip will hopefully help me to achieve that.

Or end in a bloodbath. Either way, it’ll be an adventure. 😉

In the meantime, I still have some last minute preparations to take care off, so I guess I’ll see y’all in March.

(Hopefully the General Elections won’t be held till after we come back; I wanna have indelible ink on my fingernail too!)

Triumph Fashion Show

I was privileged recently to be able to attend a bona-fide fashion show at the KLCC Convention Centre in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, where beautiful models were to parade the latest in lingerie and nghtwear fashion, from the famous lingerie brands Triumph, Sloggi and Valiserie.

The Triumph fashion show was part of the Malaysian International Fashion Week 2007.

I say “bona-fide”, because although I’ve watched fashion shows before, they were always at shopping malls. So perhaps they don’t quite count.

Anyway, without further ado, allow me to share my pictures and videos of said event. If the pictures seem a little blurry, as if they were shot with a trembling hand…. I wonder why?

B’Sentral Treasure Hunt

Yesterday (Sunday) morning, I woke up at the ungodly hour of 5++ am to get ready for a Treasure Hunt competition that was to kick off a few hours later.

I was in a team of 4 with 3 friends/colleagues, and after rounding them all up, we headed off to the starting point of the hunt – the B’Sentral Restaurant at the heart of Brickfields – at about 7 am.

After breakfast (which consisted of mee goreng (fried noodles) and coffee), we received our list of questions/clues, and headed off to begin hunting.

Hi there.

There’s a Travel Blog at (which is a sub-site under The Star Online) which has been set up to promote Visit Malaysia 2007.

All bloggers and wannabe-bloggers and basically anyone who wants to say something nice about our country for a change are welcome to post their thoughts in the blog.

(You’ll have to be a MyStar member before you can post an entry – registration is FREE – and all posts are moderated before being published. You can also add a link to your own blog in the post – sure got trafic spike wan….)

From the site intro:

What is it about Malaysia that’s so special that we have boldly proclaimed Malaysia a “must-visit”? Is it the people? The lifestyle? The beauty? The food?

Tell us, via this blog, what it is you think that’s unique about Malaysia, as a country, a tourist destination, a place to call home, and more. Provide suggestions (of places to visit, food to taste, sights to see etc), comments, tips … and show us why the world should visit and experience Malaysia.

Go on, try to find something good about Malaysia to write about for once – too much pessimism is not good for anyone.

Phunky phones and tonnes of tickets

The two major talking points throughout most of yesterday was the 1 million free tickets being offered up by Air Asia (this coming hot on the heels of the other big announcement of last week, the RM9.99 fare from KL to Manchester, courtesy of FAX) and of course, Apple’s buzz-a-licious unveiling of the iPhone.
