Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Have a safe and good holiday, all.

Is it any wonder?
Sometimes
It’s hard to know where I stand
It’s hard to know where I am
Well maybe it’s a puzzle I don’t understandSometimes
I get the feeling that I’m
Stranded in the wrong time
Where love is just a lyric in a children’s rhyme, a soundbite

Perhaps it’s time to let go.
Protected: December, be gone!
Chairman Mao and Supporting K-Poppers
In case you haven’t heard of the Malaysian K-Popped trio, these three beautiful ladies are huge fans of what is commonly referred to as hallyu or Korean wave.
And they share their passion for all things Korean in their rather delightful blog, K-Popped!
Anyway, these terrific threesome were on a whirlwind wonder tour of Beijing recently, and when they returned, they brought back a gift for yours truly – Chairman Mao’s red book!

I’ve always wanted this novelty item (not that I’m a communist symphatiser or anything like that), ever since I learned of it from watching that classic British TV comedy, Mind Your Language.
In that show, the sterotypical Communist Chinese character, Su-Lee, often carries the little red book around, quoting from it whenever necessary. (As an aside, did you know that the actress playing her, Lim Pik-Sen, was born in Penang? You didn’t? Oh, thousand apologies…)
Some of the quotations are straight-forward propaganda.
But there are a couple which are kinda scary, like this one:
“We are advocates of the abolition of war, we do not want war; but war can only be abolished through war, and in order to get rid of the gun it is necessary to take up the gun.”
Sheesh.
Anyway, I’m very grateful to the K-Poppers for their wonderful gift, and it is thus my pleasure to add an image link to the K-Popped site on my sidebar – especially considering that they made this specific button just for me.
K-Pop Boleh!
Hose me down
I had some really spicy North Indian food last night for dinner, and this morning I woke up with my ass on fire.
Today I walked the distance to the North Pole, except for the fact I did all the walking inside a shopping mall. All in a vain effort to buy the perfect gift.
Women can be so difficult to shop for.
